El Caribe, founded in 1948, faces a new stage with a smarter look and a new structure. The new design changes the grid, the typefaces, the color palette, and the sequence of pages. In-house stories, reports, and interviews get priority and are deeply developed. The rest jump from one column to another in mosaic-shaped pages.
Four major sections structure now all the contents: Panorama (hard news), Opiniones (op-ed pages), Gente (style and entertainment) and Deportes, sports stories with the back page as a second cover. The new masthead can be moved anywhere as long as it stays on top of the front page, and it can be displayed in positive and negative. This allows the production of very different covers, with either horizontal or vertical structures.
